Leathers Milligan & Associates – OI Partners
Tony Neves
Tony Neves has over 15 years experience in the retained search industry and is Leathers Milligan’s executive search practice leader. He has personally successfully managed more than 300 senior executive searches covering virtually all critical enterprise disciplines including, product development, finance, supply chain, sales and marketing, information technology and human resources. He has helped clients ranging from early stage start-ups to multi-national corporations where his record of delivering timely, high quality solutions to critical talent acquisition challenges has earned him long term client loyalty and status as a preferred supplier and business partner.
Tony’s earlier professional experience contributed greatly to his success in building a strong search practice. For example, he held a leadership position in a non-profit agency providing employment, education and training services to low income residents where he oversaw a Ford Foundation grant tracking the agency’s effectiveness converting clients from welfare to work. It was in this environment that Tony was able to perfect superior interpersonal and communication skills as well as develop the talent to seek out and assessing the intangibles and soft skills that are key performance indicators at every level.
Honeywell, one of the non-profit’s corporate partners, recruited Tony to fill a critical staffing role after which he moved into senior employee relations position where he was instrumental to the successful execution of three rounds of corporate “rightsizing” in a two year period. He subsequently joined Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) during the time of the company’s explosive growth as the recruiter for its Global Finance and Administration organization, and later had the opportunity to take advantage of the company’s entrepreneurial and risk taking culture by moving into the role of purchasing manager in one of the main manufacturing plants. Tony was regularly promoted to increasingly senior operational and strategic supply chain positions, including leadership roles in successful plant start-ups and managing global teams at corporate level. He then returned to a leadership position in DEC’s human resources organization where he was instrumental to the successful implementation of a major business and organizational transformation, first at DEC’s Phoenix, Arizona manufacturing facility and later expanded to include all of the company’s domestic manufacturing.
While Tony’s nearly thirty year residence in the greater Phoenix area qualifies him in some circles as a “native”, he remains an ardent fan of all of things Boston, his hometown, particularly its sports teams and seafood. Tony majored in Business Administration at Boston University and is also a graduate of its Executive Development program. He is active in numerous community and volunteer programs and has served on boards of several local non-profit organizations.
